The Easiest Way to Keep Facility Floors Dry and Grime-Free

In the northern hemisphere, winter will officially be upon us come December 21. And for much of the US, that means months of snow, slush, rain and mud, all tracked into your facility multiple times each day. Particularly in northern climates, keeping high-traffic areas like entryways, lobbies, and hallways clean and dry can be a never ending battle for custodial teams.
While clean floors are a must no matter the time of year, the extra snow and precipitation tracked in by people’s shoes during winter can be especially hazardous in facilities like hospitals or healthcare centers that see high numbers of elderly or physically limited patients who are at risk for falls.
But with an ongoing shortage of custodial and EVS workers, most facilities can’t afford to dedicate one person’s entire attention to constantly mopping and drying the floors. That’s why large facilities like hospitals, schools, and manufacturing spaces are starting to incorporate automation to maintain clean floors without the human labor cost.
Let’s take a look at some of the robots and software integrations being put to good use in pursuit of consistently clean floors.
CC1
Facilities that have a mix of carpeted areas and hard flooring love the multipurpose CC1—the most versatile commercial floor cleaning robot on the market. It sweeps, vacuum, mops, and scrubs, and can be quickly switched to manual mode for easy spot cleaning. Its relatively small size and nimble maneuvering make it ideal for a wide range of spaces, including those furnished with potential obstacles such as chairs, tables, office cubicles, or medical equipment. It’s also highly efficient in larger spaces, covering 6,000 - 8,000 square feet per hour.
CC1’s smart cleaning really shines during the months of winter mess due to its ability to dry the floors of liquid residue as it cleans. And its ability to not only operate autonomously, but self-charge, self-empty and refill using an optional workstation means that custodians are truly freed from much of the hassle of floor maintenance.
CC3
Facilities that have large areas of hard flooring can find incredible benefit from the CC3, a 32-inch industrial-grade autonomous floor scrubber. A powerhouse unit that operates in wet and dry modes for scrubbing and sweeping, its sleek design, zero turning radius, and smaller size relative to competitors allow it to be used in locations unsuitable for bulkier robots or walk-behind machines. Even still, it compromises nothing when it comes to performance, cleaning an impressive 10,000 - 15,000 square feet per hour, and designed to conduct the same self-maintenance as the CC1 with an included workstation.
The CC3 is ideal for large open spaces such as lobbies, hallways, recreation courts and more, keeping high-traffic areas free of winter sludge and potential slipping hazards. And its autonomous operation means no one has to spend their valuable time walking behind or riding the scrubber as it cleans. After being mapped to a facility, the CC3 will complete its work on schedule or on ad-hoc runs as needed without having to be attended by a custodian. Advanced object avoidance technology means the CC3 can safely clean around people, fixtures, equipment and furniture.
Integrations to Boost Cleaning Efficiency
One of the unique value propositions that Pringle Robotics brings to each client engagement is our suite of industry-leading integrations for optimum custodial, EVS, and robot efficiency. Our proprietary Pringle Network Operations Console (PringleNOC) allows facility custodial teams to monitor, track, and view detailed task reports from all connected robots. This gives facility managers vital insight into actual robot usage, robot health and workflow efficiency, ensuring absolute transparency in facility cleaning operations. It’s the next step in robot fleet management, and a revolutionary innovation in data accessibility and technology integration for the Janitorial/Sanitation, EVS and Facilities Management fields.

PringlePristine is a proprietary housekeeping scheduling platform with seamless NOC integration. This task management and tracking solution for custodial staff improves efficiency and reporting. It incorporates data and configurations from the NOC to build task lists for custodial staff. Based on defined workflows and data from sensor data, Pristine provides real-time updates to scheduled custodial duties to ensure the most efficient use of staff time. Data collected from Pristine, such as cleaning times, can be used to further adjust workflows and schedules.

Better Tech for Better Safety
Don’t let analog approaches slow your facility down when it comes to protecting customers, patients or staff from slippery wintertime floors. The integration of highly-efficient, ever-at-the-ready cleaning robots with comprehensive data tracking and cloud-based workflow management is the future of Jan/San, promising a safer, cleaner reality for facilities of every shape and size.
